Although the tourist industry in Kenya is not having the best of times, Vega sees a significant long-term potential for Cenium in East Africa. 05-09 Jun ´00 Vega partcipates in NSC Conference in CopenhagenFrom the 5th to the 9th of June, Vega was represented at the annual NSC Conference held in Copenhagen along with representatives from 8 other countries in Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. 04 Apr ´00 Vega wins Navision contracts with GTZ in MalawiVega is going to install Navision Financials at two democratisation projects in Malawi, funded by GTZ and the European Union and managed by GTZ, the German development aid organisation. 01 Feb ´00 Vega appoints Kassim-Lakha Samvir Abdulla to be its auditorsVega has today appointed Kassim-Lakha Samvir Abdulla - one of East Africa's largest financial services providers - to be its auditors, also providing taxation advice and secretarial services. 31 Jan ´00 Vega exhibits at Computers 2000 in Sarit Centre, NairobiOne of the largest IT exhibitions in East Africa, Computers 2000, took place on 26-30 January in the Sarit Centre's exhibition hall. Vega had a stand displaying our range of products and services and we received hundreds of enquiries, many of them very interesting, potentially leading to new projects. 08 Jan ´00 Vega wins contract with UNEPToday, Vega received an order from UNEP's Division for Environmental Information, Assessment and Early Warning to develop a Programme and Resource Management System. The system will cover programme planning, evaluation and reporting as well as resource and capacity management. 04 Jan ´00 New employee - customer supportVega's customer support was strengthened significantly today, when Geoffrey Ng'etich - our new Systems Administrator - started in his new job. Jeff will be responsible for our own internal as well as our customers' systems, providing both hardware and software maintenance and support. 01 Jan ´00 New telephone numbersAfter months of waiting, our new phone lines have now been opened, giving us an extra fixed line number and a mobile number, thus making it easier to get in touch with us. 28 Dec ´99 Vega wins contract with UNOPSToday, Vega was awarded the contract to develop and install a financial and administrative system for UNOPS' Nairobi offices. The system will cover both UNOPS internal accounting, procurement and travel administration as well as financial management of all projects run by UNOPS Nairobi. The most visible evidence of VEGA's new attitude is our new logo - displayed on the main page of our homepage - which will appear on our letterhead paper, business cards etc. from 1 January 2000. A less visible but probably more important change is our investment in both personnel and equipment within training, customer service, marketing and telecommunications. 01 Sep ´99 VEGA becomes Navision Solution Center (NSC)On 1 September 1999, VEGA Software Ltd. was officially appointed Navision Solution Center by Maersk IT as and Navision Software a/s, something we are very proud of and something we have invested significant amounts of time and money in. VEGA now belongs to the exclusive club of IT service providers that are allowed to sell, implement, customise and service installations of Navision products, notably Navision Financials, one of the worlds leading Financial Management Information Systems. We look forward to servicing the already existing Navision customers in Africa and we believe that a lot more organisations in the region - private as well as public - will become part of the Navision world within the years to come. |
